The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Northern Iloilo State University – College of Management have partnered to implement livelihood projects for families in Barangays Bulaqueña and Gogo in the Municipality of Estancia.

The initiative, titled “Various Livelihood Projects for Parents of Child Laborers (PCLs) and the MASIPAG Association Food Processing and Bakery Projects,” aims to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities and additional sources of income for beneficiary families in the two barangays.

During a courtesy visit held recently, Dr. Maria Kristina C. Ortiz and Dr. Madelyn R. Gumarac formally presented the details of the project together with barangay officials, including Punong Barangay Rena Bersabal and Punong Barangay Hermie Gonzales, as well as faculty members from the NISU College of Management.

The program has a total funding allocation of ₱2,750,000.00 and is expected to support livelihood development initiatives focused on food processing and bakery production, particularly benefiting parents of child laborers and members of the MASIPAG Association.

Local officials expressed their gratitude to NISU College of Management and DOLE for bringing meaningful opportunities and support to families in need, emphasizing that the project will help strengthen community livelihood and improve the economic condition of beneficiaries in the concerned barangays.
